Jerome Thélia há tempos é fascinado pelo cruzamento da arte com a tecnologia. Trabalhou como diretor, editor, colorista e artista de efeitos visuais em longas, documentários e comerciais por 25 anos. Cofundador, com David McLain, da produtora Merge, Jerome deu aulas de produção de cinema na Escola de Artes Visuais de Manhattan desde 2001.

Alguns trabalhos recentes incluem A Convocação (The Calling, diretor); Mad As Hell (produtor executivo); The Enclave (colorista e supervisor de pós-produção); A Vida Secreta de Walter Mitty (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, colorista de efeitos visuais); e vencedor do Oscar em Toque de Recolher (Curfew, como colorista e supervisor de pós-produção).

Jerome Thélia has long been fascinated by the intersection of art and technology. He has worked as a director, editor, colorist and visual effects artist for feature films, documentaries and commercials for 25 years. Co-founder with David McLain of the production company Merge, Jerome has taught film production at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan since 2001. Some recent credits include The Calling (director); Mad As Hell (executive producer); The Enclave (colorist and post-sup); The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty (VFX colorist); and Academy Award winner Curfew (colorist and post-sup).

Graduado em Cinema pela Universidade Estácio de Sá - RJ, em 2009, Mikael Santiago é um diretor ativo que adora experimentar diversos tipos de linguagens e formatos audiovisuais.

Recentemente, recebeu o prêmio de Melhor Filme em seu primeiro longa-metragem – Ball’s Pyramid – produzido pela Cani.TV Media House e filmado na Austrália. O longa foi exibido em outubro de 2014 pelo Canal OFF. Nos últimos dois anos trabalhou como diretor contratado da Cani.TV, onde realizou dezenas de episódios e quadros para cinema, TV aberta e TV fechada. Seus primeiros curtas-metragens ganharam destaque em festivais de cinema nacionais e internacionais, garantindo prêmios como: Melhor Filme Experimental – FestVideo Teresina/PI, 2008; Melhor Documentário – Curta Criativo/RJ, 2008; Menção Honrosa de Melhor Plano – Claro Curtas/SP, 2009; Melhor Fotografia – Festival Nóia/CE, 2009; e Seleção para o Festival de Cinema Brasileiro em Paris, 2009, dentre outros.

A film graduate from the Estácio de Sá University in Rio de Janeiro, class of 2009, Mikael Santiago is an energetic director who loves experiencing different kinds of languages and audiovisual formats. He recently received the Best Film award for his first feature film – Ball’s Pyramid – produced by Cani.TV Media House and filmed in Australia. The feature film was shown in October 2014 by the OFF channel. For the last two years, he has worked as a contracted director of Cani.TV, where he produced dozens of episodes and images for the cinema, free-to-air TV and subscription TV. His first short-films attracted attention at Brazilian and international film festivals, winning prizes including: Best Experimental Film – FestVideo Teresina/PI, 2008; Best Documentary – Curta Criativo/RJ, 2008; Honorable Mention for Best Design – Claro Curtas/SP, 2009; Best Photography – Festival Nóia/CE, 2009; and Selection for the Brazilian Cinema Festival Paris, 2009, among others.

Every year a group of high-performing rugby scholars from the Inner City Education Foundation public schools come together for an international tour. One girls' and one boys' rugby team have a chance to experience the world outside South Los Angeles. Every tour comes with personal, academic and on-the-field challenges. The third documentary in the series follows the student athletes on a tour to the UK and France, to face their toughest opponents and biggest challenges yet. "This journey winds through the heart break and joy of the collegiate acceptance process, bounces over the shoals of relationships train, and hold stight during the hairpin turns of teenagers becoming young adults." Nia, a bright and intense young woman struggles with maturity and aggression as she balances the life on tour with big dreams of being part of the 2016 US Womens Olympic Rugby team. She has a real chance of competing in Rio; but she has the hurdles of being a 16 year old to deal with first. Leodes, the champion of all three films, will be leaving for college this year. While being a sporting leader Leodes must rely on his academics to get him the support he needs to attend one of the top Universities in the US. The film explores the various difficulties that individual students face, while portraying a new generation that is looking to change the face of Inner City youth.

Mesmo sem ter consciência, Guilherme Cavallari passou a vida inteira se preparando para esta aventura: seis meses pedalando sozinho uma mountain bike pela Patagônia e Terra do Fogo, cruzando a fronteira entre o Chile e a Argentina dezenas de vezes. Ao longo da jornada, ele percebe que seu principal desafio não é físico, mas sim psicológico: nenhuma preparação teria sido suficiente. Solidão, pegadas de pumas, falta de água, saudades da esposa, a morte de sua mãe poucos meses antes da viagem e seu quinquagésimo aniversário no meio do nada são apenas alguns dos desafios que Cavallari precisa enfrentar para seguir seu caminho. Além da própria Patagônia, famosa por ser uma das últimas terras sem fronteira do planeta – isolada, inóspita, desumana, mas também reveladora e promissora. Sua paisagem, seu povo, sua história e toda austeridade que a caracterizam revelam-se diariamente através da jornada, desdobrando-se em camadas de beleza e realidade. Though he wasn't aware of it at the time, Guilherme Cavallari had spent his whole life preparing for this adventure: six months cycling alone on a mountain bike through Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, crossing the border between Chile and Argentina dozens of times. During the course of the journey, he realizes that his main challenge is not physical, but psychological: no preparation would have been sufficient. Solitude, puma footprints, a lack of water, a longing for his wife, his mother's death a few months before the journey, and his fiftieth birthday in the middle of nowhere are just a few of the challenges that Cavallari has to face as he continues on his path. As well as Patagonia itself, famous for being one of the last borderless lands on the planet – isolated, inhospitable, inhuman, but also eye-opening and rewarding – its landscape, people, history and all its characteristic severity are revealed daily through the journey, unfolding in layers of beauty and reality. In the end, experiences and numbers accumulate like dust blown by the famous, biting Patagonian wind: 5,879 km, 180 days, over 30 kilos of equipment, numerous rivers, mountains, lengthy stretches of desert and the certainty that no journey is greater than the inner journey, the journey of the soul.

Cauê Steinberg, produtor audiovisual, caminhou pela televisão e algumas produtoras do mercado, e foi um dos fundadores da Fábula Filmes, em 2011. Produziu o mini-documentário Na Trilha do Joana para o Canal Futura, em 2015. Hoje, Cauê é o diretor de fotografia do programa Oficina Motor e acaba de finalizar o filme Transpatagônia, seu primeiro documentário longa-metragem, que recebeu o Troféu Corcovado como melhor filme em voto popular, no Rio Mountain Festival 2014.

Cauê Steinberg, an audiovisual producer, has worked in television and for several of the industry's producers, and was one of the founders of Fábula Filmes, in 2011. He produced the mini-documentary, On the Trail of Joana, for the Canal Futura, in 2015. Cauê is currently the director of cinematography for the program Oficina Motor and has just completed the film Transpatagônia, his first full-length documentary, which won the Corcovado Trophy for best film in the popular vote at the Rio Mountain Festival 2014.

Caroline tem sua estreia como diretora com Primeiro: Filme Oficial dos Jogos Olímpicos de Londres 2012, que foi lançado em 600 salas de cinema dos Estados Unidos, em maio de 2013, seguido de uma apresentação na rede NBC, no primeiro aniversário dos Jogos de Londres. Caroline credentials as a documentary producer and creative director also include We Are The People We’ve Been Waiting For and Generation Amazing, which told of the effect of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa on young people’s lives.

Caroline's London 2012 bid films, Sport at Heart and Inspiration, have won 26 Awards between them. Compartilham suas experiências com povos nativos, conhecem seu trabalho, tão diferente daqueles que existem nas cidades, mostram a flora e a fauna da região e lutam contra as duras condições meteorológicas até chegarem a Ushuaia. A partir daí, tomam um barco e navegam pelo Canal de Beagle e pelo Estreito de Le Maire, um dos mais perigosos e com mais naufrágios dos mares do mundo, para chegar à desabitada Ilha dos Estados, na extremidade leste do arquipélago da Terra do Fogo.

The ‘Gauchos del Mar’ brothers pursue their goal of surfing in one of the most isolated regions of the planet: the Ilha de los Estados, south of the southernmost tip of the world. They travel by car across Patagonia and live in a tent for six months, sharing their experiences with indigenous people and learning about their lives, which contrast so strongly with those in the city. They explore the flora and fauna of the area, and battle harsh weather conditions to reach Ushuaia. Here, they board a boat and sail through the Beagle Channel and across the Le Maire Strait, one of the most dangerous, shipwreck-strewn seas in the world, to reach the uninhabited Ilha de los Estados, at the extreme east of the Terra del Fuego archipelago.

Julian Azulay, 29, is an architect; Joaquin Azulay, 28, is a business administrator. The two brothers share a passion for surfing and the adventure films associated with it. Known as the ‘Gauchos del Mar’ – or the 'Gauchos of the Sea' –, surfers and filmmakers alike, they were born and grew up in Buenos Aires, 450 km from the ocean. But they come from a family of pioneers in this sport in Argentina and the performance of their two feature films around the world is of the same high level as the filmmakers' sporting careers. Gauchos del Mar – Surfing the American Pacific won 9 awards at international film festivals in 2012, including for Best Film at the Surfilm Festival San Sebastián - Spain, and at the Surf Film Festival Anglet - France; an Honorable Mention at the San Diego Surf Film Festival - USA, and various awards in Germany and Brazil. No último verão, participou dos Jogos Mundiais para Anões em Michigan, EUA, uma competição ao estilo olímpico realizada a cada quatro anos, exclusivamente para pessoas de baixa estatura. Joan foi o único representante da Espanha porque não conseguiu achar ninguém para ir junto. É por isso que ele se especializou em tênis de mesa, um esporte individual.

Joan viajou 7.000 km para se sentir em casa e também para realizar seu sonho: tornar-se Campeão Mundial de tênis de mesa e, acima de tudo, jogar basquete mais uma vez: provavelmente a última. Sua viagem vai nos mostrar como é o mundo visto a um metro do chão. Não é só sobre esporte, é sobre a própria vida.

Joan Pahisa is 28 years old and has a huge passion: basketball. It would be nothing extraordinary except for a detail: he's exactly one meter tall. Joan’s life has not been easy, but sport has helped him go ahead. Last summer he took part in the World Dwarf Games in Michigan, USA, an olympic-style competition that's held every four years exclusively for little people. Joan was the only representative from Spain because he couldn't find anyone else to go with him. That’s why he specialized himself in table tennis, an individual sport.

He traveled 7.000 km to feel like at home and also to fulfill his dreams: to be World Champion in table tennis and, above all, to play basketball one more time: most probably the last. His trip will show us how the world is seen from just one meter from the ground. It’s not only about sport, it’s about life itself.

 Formados em Comunicação Audiovisual em Barcelona, onde se conheceram e começaram a contar suas histórias a quatro mãos, Enric Ribes e Oriol Martínez centralizam seu trabalho na área de documentários. Já foram premiados em festivais como o Alcine, Miradas Doc, Festival Internacional de Cinema Documentário de Moscou e Docs Barcelona, recebendo o Fotograma de Prata 2013 na categoria curta-metragem. Como jornalista, diretor, produtor executivo e professor, Oriol começou sua carreira na televisão há 25 anos. Trabalhou com várias redes de TV e produtoras, principalmente na esfera da vida real. Sua especialidade são documentários de cunho social, alguns vencedores de prêmios internacionais. Nesse âmbito, retratou pessoas e situações de todos os continentes, desde vidas incríveis até conflitos e crises, esses com o intuito de conscientizar o público sobre realidades muitas vezes esquecidas. Desde 2005 desenvolve a maioria dos projetos através de sua produtora de Barcelona, La Lupa Produccions.

Graduates in Audiovisual Communication at Barcelona, where they met and began telling stories in four hands. Enric Ribes e Oriol Martínez have been awarded in festivals like Alcine, Miradas Doc, Moscow International Documentary Film Festival and Docs Barcelona, recognized with the Silver Frames 2013 short film category. His work is focus on the field of documentary. Journalist, director, executive producer and teacher, Oriol began his career in TV for 25 years. He has worked with various networks and producers, mostly in the realm of reality. He specializes in documentaries with social themes, some of them internationally awarded. In this sense he portrayed people and situations on every continent, from people with incredible lives to conflicts and crises, in these cases with the intention of raising awareness of these realities often forgotten. Since 2005 he develops most of its projects through his production company La Lupa Produccions, located in Barcelona.

Raúl tem 75 anos, mora em uma pequena casa branca no bairro de Buceo, em Montevidéu, com sua esposa Susana, de 37 anos, e a filha Sofía, de 5 anos. Raúl e Susana trabalham longas horas como personal trainers. Raúl também tem outras funções, como treinar uma equipe de rúgbi profissional, tocar violão e até mesmo consertar um velho automóvel.

Montevidéu, outono de 2009: no seu tempo livre, Raúl treina para o decatlo. Em 29 de julho, na Finlândia, ele se torna campeão mundial.

Raúl is 75 years old. He lives in Montevideo, in a little white house in the neighborhood of Buceo, with his 37 years old wife Susana and his 5 years old daughter Sofía. Both, Raúl and Susana, work long hours as personal trainers. Raúl also has other occupations such as training a professional rugby team, playing the guitar, and even fixing an old automobile.

Montevideo, Fall 2009: In his spare time, Raúl trains for the Decathlon. On July 29th, in Finland, he may become champion of the world.

Veronica concluiu o Mestrado em Confecção de Roteiro pela Universidade UIMP, de Valência, através de uma bolsa da IBERMEDIA. Também completou o Workshop Internacional em Produção Executiva na EICTV, de Santo Antonio de los Baños. Seu filme Monstruo obteve financiamento estatal uruguaio do ICAU e ganhou diversos prêmios no FAM - Florianópolis Audiovisual Mercosul,  e no Festival Internacional de Cinema do Uruguai, em 2013. É diretora da Nektar Films e atualmente leciona Confecção de Roteiro para Ficção e Documentários, na Universidade Tecnológica do Uruguai.

                          

Veronica obtained her Master`s Degree in Screenwriting from the UIMP University, Valencia, through an IBERMEDIA scholarship. She has completed the International Executive Production Workshop at the EICTV of San Antonio de los Baños. Her production Monstruo received Uruguayan state funding from ICAU and won several awards at FAM - Florianopolis Audiovisual Mercosul, and Festival Cinematográfico Internacional del Uruguay in 2013. Alison Chow é uma lenda entre os fundistas de Hong Kong. Largou uma carreira estável de professora em 2010, deixando sua zona de conforto aos quase 30 anos, e iniciou uma jornada de maratonista em tempo integral. Em apenas três a quatro anos, Alison foi de desconhecida participante de maratonas a atleta de elite – a única mulher maratonista em tempo integral de Hong Kong. Ela fez das Olimpíadas de Londres 2012 sua meta, determinada a representar Hong Kong nos Jogos.

Em setembro de 2011, Alison participou da 38ª Maratona BMW de Berlim, concluindo a prova em 2 horas 49 minutos e 57 segundos, 7 minutos abaixo do limite para se classificar para as Olimpíadas, dando assim o nome a este documentário, Rompendo o 7  (Breaking 7). Alison enfrentou inúmeros desafios com seu técnico, amigos e família, sendo ainda inspirada pela vida.

Alison Chow is quite a legend among Hong Kong long-distance runners. She gave up on her stable teaching job in 2010, leaving her comfort zone at the age of almost 30, and went on the journey of a full-time marathon athlete. In just three to four years, she went from an unheard of marathon participant, to a Hong Kong marathon elite athlete – the only full-time female marathon runner in Hong Kong. She made the 2012 London Olympics her goal, determined to represent Hong Kong in the games.

In September 2011, Alison participated in 38th BMW Berlin Marathon. She finished the marathon in 2 hours 49 minutes and 57 seconds, 7 minutes slower than the Olympics entry requirement, thus the name of this documentary, Breaking 7. Seus trabalhos incluem The Legend of Wooden Cart (2009), Treasures of Africa (2012), Africa, A Future for Everyone (2012) e Move with the Times  (2014).

Born in Hong Kong, Rita Hung is a director and video-editor. She was graduated from Journalism in Hong Kong Shue Yan College. After the graduation, she worked as a production assistant in a TV station. Rita then found herself had a great interest in documentaries. Her movies include The Legend of Wooden Cart (2009), Treasures of Africa (2012), Africa, A Future for Everyone (2012), and Move with the Times (2014).

Ao mesmo tempo em que a personagem título enfrenta os limites físicos nos treinos, a pré-adolescente tem que lidar com a fase de mudanças e descobertas do próprio corpo.

Graça is a synchronized swimmer who is always seeking to push her limits. As she dives into the water, she plunges into her inner world. The transition from childhood to adolescence is the delicate backdrop against which Clara Peltier's short film is set. At the same time that the title character of the film confronts her physical limits in training, the pre-adolescent has to deal with the processes of change and discovery taking place in her own body.

Trained in Journalism and Film at  the university of PUC-Rio, Clara Peltier majored in screenwriting and directing at New York University. She wrote the scripts for the documentaries Rio dos Esportes (2008), Francisco Brennand (2012) and Território do Brincar (2015). She also wrote and directed the short films Isa dos Ventos (2008) and Graça (2013), which won the Special Jury Prize at the Festival Femina and was shown at various international festivals, such as the Festival de Cine Iberoamericano de Huelva; the Miami International Film Festival and the Berlin International Short Film Festival, among others.

Maria Elisabete Jorge, conhecida como ‘Bete do Peso’, foi a primeira levantadora de peso a defender o Brasil em uma Olimpíada. Esse esporte, presente nos Jogos Olímpicos desde o início das competições da Era Moderna, só incluiu a participação feminina em 2000. Divulgar essa modalidade pouco reconhecida no país e resgatar a história dessa brasileira de origem humilde, que chegou a Sydney já aos 43 anos de idade e utilizou o esporte para ultrapassar fronteiras sociais, é a proposta desse documentário.

Maria Elisabete Jorge, known as ‘Betty of the Weights’, was the first female weightlifter to represent Brazil at the Olympics. The sport, which has been part of the Olympic games since the start of the Modern Era, only allowed women to compete in the year 2000. The aim of this documentary is to cast a spotlight on this little recognized event in Brazil and to do justice to the story of a Brazilian woman from an underprivileged background, who reached Sydney at the age of 43, and used the sport to overcome social barriers.

A reporter for the Canal Brasil television channel of São Paulo for over 15 years, he also directs making of for feature films and television programs. Highlights of his career include the documentaries In the Dominions of David (Nos Domínios de David) - 2011, Scenes from a Life (Cenografia de Uma Vida) - 2009, 10 Warnings and 1 Blessing (10 Advertências e 1 Bênção) - 2005, Criticism in Motion (Crítica em Movimento) - 2004, and All The Hours (Todas as Horas) - 2003; and his short films Íris - 2013, and Sovereign (Soberano) - 2005, in addition to his first short film, Your Father Told You That This is Not a Toy.

Victor Alonso Berbel (Barcelona, 1993) is a Film & TV graduate at Pompeu Fabra University. He’s also studied filmmaking and television at the University of California, Los Angeles, and recently he’s been granted a scholarship by La Caixa Foundation to study a MFA in the United States. Fist & Steel is his first documentary work, for which he received the SGAE -New Filmmakers Award for Best Director at the Sitges International Film Festival, among others.

Leonel Sant’Anna, nascido em Porto Alegre, iniciou trabalhos independentes e foi para São Paulo fazer o Curso Intensivo de Cinema, na Academia Internacional de Cinema - AIC. Concluiu o Curso de Audiovisual na Universidade Paulista - UNIP e hoje trabalha para produtoras locais, mantendo sempre a independência de seus projetos.

Fabio Lucio Benvenuti is a Marketing graduate from São Paulo; who also has a post-graduate diploma in Cinema from the Belas Artes college (SP). He has worked in the audiovisual market since 2003. The director of Ragna Filmes, he has produced videos for ALMAP-BBDO, among other companies.

Leonel Sant’Anna was born in the southern Brazilian city of Porto Alegre. He started work on independent projects and went to São Paulo to take the Intensive Course in Film at the International Film Academy (Academia Internacional de Cinema - AIC). He completed the Audiovisual Course at Paulista University - UNIP and currently works for local producers, always with a view to preserving the independence of his projects.

Depois que seu grande amigo Roger morre em um acidente de base-jumping, Joachim tem que prometer para sua namorada que vai parar com esse esporte para sempre. Eles estão esperando seu primeiro filho e o esporte é perigoso demais para um pai de família. Mas antes, ele vai partir em uma última aventura, contrariando a vontade da namorada. Junto com seu melhor amigo, Öyvind, parte para escalar o Monte Katthammaren, homenagear Roger e dar seu último salto. Mas quando uma tempestade se aproxima, a amizade deles é posta à prova. Öyvind quer voltar, mas Joachim aparentemente não permitirá que nada impeça esse seu último salto.

When his good friend Roger is killed in a base-jumping accident, Joachim has to promise his girlfriend to give up base-jumping for good. They’re expecting their first child together and base-jumping is far too dangerous for a family man. But first he endevours one last adventure, against his girlfriends wishes. Together with his best-friend Øyvind he sets out to climb Mt. Katthammaren to honour Roger and do his last jump. But when a thunderstorm approaches, their friendship is put to the test. Øyvind wants to turn back, but Joachim will apparently stop at nothing to pull off his very last jump.

Aslak Danbolt é de Bergen, na costa oeste da Noruega. Estudou direção de documentários na Escola Superior de Lillehammer antes de concluir um mestrado em cinema pela Escola de Cinema de Londres, em 2014. Trabalha com documentários e ficção, e seus filmes já foram selecionados para competir em vários festivais de cinema de todo o mundo, inclusive de Tribeca, Chicago, IDFA, Slamdance, Montreal e Salônica. Aslak vive hoje em Oslo, na Noruega, onde dirige séries de documentários para a TV e prepara seu primeiro longa.

Aslak Danbolt originates from Bergen on the west coast of Norway. He studied documentary directing at Lillehammer University College before earning an MA in filmmaking from The London Film School in 2014. He makes both documentary and fiction and his work has been selected for competition at many film festivals around the world incl. Tribeca, Chicago, IDFA, Slamdance, Montreal & Thessaloniki. Mari Sanders nasceu em 1988 em Eindhoven, Holanda. Formou-se em Design Audiovisual em 2012, pela Academia AKV St. Joost, em Breda, com seu filme Rue des Invalides. Um ano após se formar, Mari realizou – como parte do programa anual de curtas holandês Kort! – o curta Sincronia, escrito por Lianne Damen e produzido pela IJswater Films. Dentro do programa anual de intercâmbio de empresas emissoras de televisão europeias, o EBU Eurovision Drama Exchange, Mari realizou o curta infantil Go Daan Go!, também escrito por Lianne Damen e produzido pela IJswater Films.

Mari Sanders was born in 1988 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. In 2012 Sanders graduated from AKV St. Joost Academy in Breda in Audiovisual Design, with his film Rue des Invalides. A year after his graduation Sanders made – as a part of the annual Dutch short film program Kort! – the short film Sync, which was written by Lianne Damen and produced by IJswater Films. In the context of EBU Eurovision Drama Exchange, an annual exchange program for European television broadcasting companies, Sanders made the children’s short film Go Daan Go!, which was also written by Lianne Damen and produced by IJswater Films.

Bongkeun Kwon nasceu em Chunchon, na Coreia do Sul. Formou-se em Língua e Literatura Russa pela Universidade Nacional de Seul, com a tese “A Teoria Dualista da Culturologia Russa Exibida nos Filmes de Andrei Tarkovskii”. De 2009 a 2012, Kwon cursou o Mestrado em Criação de Roteiro pela Universidade de Columbia. Seu primeiro curta, realizado em Nova York, Singing in the Park, foi selecionado como modelo no programa NYC TV, exibido em agosto de 2011, junto com uma entrevista com o realizador. Seu curta de tese, Nuclear Family, foi convidado para exibição no Festival Internacional de Curtas-Metragens de Busan 2013 e no Festival Internacional de Cinema de Gwang Ju. Depois de se formar, ele foi selecionado para o Programa de Financiamento do Conselho Coreano de Cinema com seu filme Let me Cry for You, recebendo um financiamento de US$ 9,000 para produção. Além disso, seu roteiro foi selecionado para o Programa de Produção de Filme S3D (3D estereoscópico) da Academia de Cinema da Coreia, com financiamento de US$ 35,000 para a produção de Meu Sonho Greco-Romano. Let me Cry for You foi convidado para exibição no Festival de Cinema Independente de Seul (2013) e Meu Sonho Greco-Romano foi exibido em S3D no Museu Nacional de Arte Moderna e Contemporânea em Seul, Coreia (jan-mar 2014). O curta fez parte ainda da seleção oficial de diversos festivais de cinema, inclusive o Festival Internacional de Cinema de Jeon-Ju, Festival de Curta-Metragem Mise-en-Scène, Festival Internacional de Cinema do Havaí (EUA), Festival de Cinema de Esporte BCN (Espanha) e Cine Deporte (México).

Bongkeun Kwon was born in Chunchon, South Korea. He received BA in Russian Literature and Language from Seoul National University with a graduation thesis on “Dualistic theory of Russian Culturology shown in Andrei Tarkovskii’s films”. From 2009 to 2012, he pursed MFA at Columbia University in screenwriting. His first short film made in NYC is called Singing in the Park and was selected as a short film showcase in the NYC TV program, which aired in August, 2011 along with his interview. His thesis short Nuclear Family was invited and screened at Busan International Short Film Festival 2013 and Gwang Ju International Film Festival. After graduation, he was selected for Korean Film Council Funding Program with his movie Let me Cry for You and won $ 9,000 fund for production. Also with his script he was selected for Stereoscopic 3D Movie Production Program from Korea Film Academy and won $ 35,000 fund for the production of My Dream Greco-Roman. Let me Cry for You was invited and screened at Seoul Independent Film Festival (2013) and My Dream Greco-Roman was screened in S3D at National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul, Korea (Jan-Mar 2014). It was also officially selected at various film festivals, including Jeon-Ju International Film Festival, Mise-en-Scene Short Film Festival, Hawaii International Film Festival (USA), BCN Sports Film Festival (Spain), and Cine Deporte (Mexico).

Radicando-se na cidade, marcou profundamente a história da capoeira local, a ponto de hoje ser possível afirmar que a capoeira do Maranhão se divide em antes e depois do Mestre Sapo.

A documentary about Anselmo Barnabé Rodrigues, the so-called ‘Master Frog', an amazing Bahian capoeira exponent who arrived in São Luís do Maranhão in the 1960s. Having established himself in the city, he set about radically altering the history of local capoeira, to the extent that it's possible to say that capoeira in Maranhão can be divided into two phases: before and after Master Frog.

Roberto Augusto A. Pereira, 37 anos, natural de São Luís (MA), é diretor e roteirista do documentário curta-metragem O Dono da Capoeira, ganhador de cinco prêmios no 37º Festival Guarnicê de Cinema 2014: Melhor Documentário, Melhor Trilha Sonora e Melhor Filme Curta Maranhense, pelo Juri Técnico; Prêmio Mauro Bezerra de Documentário Maranhense; e o Prêmio BNB de Cinema para Melhor Filme Curta-Metragem Digital Maranhense. Professor de História, licenciado pela Universidade Federal do Maranhão, além de pesquisador e contra-mestre de capoeira, é autor do livro Roda de Rua – Memórias da Capoeira do Maranhão. Atualmente está dirigindo dois outros filmes, que estão em pleno andamento.

Roberto Augusto A. Pereira, 37, a native of São Luís (state of Maranhão), is the director and writer of the short documentary, The Capoeira Boss, winner of five prizes at the 37th Festival Guarnicê de Cinema 2014: Best Documentary, Best Screenplay and Best Short Film from Maranhão, awarded by the Technical Jury; the Mauro Bezerra Prize for a Documentary from Maranhão; and the BNB Cinema Award for Best Digital Short Film from Maranhão. A history teacher on sabbatical from the Federal University of Maranhão, in addition to being a capoeira researcher and contra-mestre (vice-master), he is the author of the book Roda de Rua – Memórias da Capoeira do Maranhão (Ring of the Street – Memories of the Capoeira of Maranhão). He is currently directing two other films, which are in full production.

Kevin é contratado da produtora Comrad, dirige programas ao vivo de televisão para a Sporting Telenet e está desenvolvendo seu longa de estreia com a Fobic Films.

Kevin Meul (1979, Belgium) is graduated at the Sint-Lukas Filmschool in Brussels, in 2003. He has since been active in the Belgian film industry, mainly as a writer and/or director of short films, music videos and commercials. He's signed to the production company Comrad, he directs live television shows for Sporting Telenet and currently he develops his debut feature film with Fobic Films.

Um feito ainda hoje raro no atletismo verde e amarelo. Depois dos saltos, Nelson voou e, num fato ainda mais raro, prosseguiu os estudos e tornou-se doutor, lecionando até os seus últimos dias na Universidade Federal de São Carlos, a UFSCar, em São Paulo.

The story of Nelson Prudêncio, the black boy from Lins who took up athletics at the age of 20 and became one of the principal characters in the epic triple-jump final at the Mexico Olympics, in 1968 – the most dramatic the event has ever seen. His jumps brought him the silver medal and the world record, for a few unforgettable and fantastic minutes. After his jumps, Nelson's career really took off. He became a Doctor and lectured at the Federal University of São Carlos, in São Paulo, until the end of his life – an unprecedented achievement for a former athlete.

Maurilio Martins is 37 and is the founder-partner of the Minas Gerais production company Filmes de Plástico. He graduated in cinema from the Centro Universitário UNA in Minas Gerais and, as writer and director, made the short films Contagem (Reckoning) and Quinze (Fifteen), which won awards both in Brazil and abroad.

Adirley Queirós is 45. He is a member of Ceicine, the Ceilândia cinema cooperative in Brasília, having graduated in cinema from the University of Brasilia (UnB). A director and screenwriter, he made the feature films A Cidade é uma só? and Branco Sai, Preto Fica, which won dozens of awards around the world.

Nascida em 1990, Inès Loizillon cresceu em Paris. Entre os 19 e 23 anos, realizou seus primeiros curtas, que ela mesma produziu, e estudou Literatura, Teatro e Cinema (Mestrado em Artes e Letras pela Ehess). Em maio de 2014, escreveu e dirigiu, junto com Alice de Lencquesaing, sua primeira peça, Tous les garçons (et les filles). Aos 24 anos dirigiu seu curta-metragem Não me Beije (Kiss me not), produzido pela G.R.E.C. e a C.N.C., na França. Inès está atualmente trabalhando no seu próximo filme.

Born in 1990, Inès Loizillon has grown up in Paris. Between 19 and 23 years old, she makes her first autoproduced short-films and studies litterature, theater and cinema (Master of arts and languages at the Ehess). In May, 2014, she co-write and co-direct, with Alice de Lencquesaing, her first play, Tous les garçons (et les filles) / Every boys (and girls).

Em julho de 2014, Edu Marín assumiu o projeto mais desafiador de sua vida: escalar a Panaroma – a lendária rota aberta por Alex Huber nos Alpes italianos, em 2007 – junto com seu pai de 62 anos, Francisco Marín ‘Novato’. Localizada no Parque Nacional Tre Cime di Lavaredo, essa via de 500 m tem a classificação de 8 C, tornando-se um dos mais difíceis paredões do mundo. O caráter árduo da escalada, o comprometimento psicológico necessário e o clima em constante mutação significam que apenas muito poucos conseguiram chegar ao cume. Além disso, a recente queda de blocos em algumas das seções mais desgastantes impediu alguns alpinistas de concluir a rota. Neste filme, pai e filho penetram no cerne das Dolomitas, tomando suas vidas nas mãos, na esperança de conseguir um feito esportivo inédito, o que os colocaria entre as lendas vivas do montanhismo.

                                                                   

In July 2014, Edu Marín took on the most challenging project of his life: climbing Panaroma – the legendary route freed by Alex Huber in the Italian Alps, in 2007 – with his 62 years-old father, Francisco Marín “Novato”. Located in the Tre Cime di Lavaredo National Park, the 500 m line is graded 8 C, making it one of the world’s hardest big walls. The demanding nature of the climb, the psychological commitment involved and the ever-changing weather means that only a handful of parties have managed to reach the summit. In addition, the recent fall of some blocks in some of the most engaging sections has prevented any climbers from completing the route. In this film, father and son enter the heart of the Dolomites, taking their lives into their own hands with the hope of accomplishing an unprecedented sporting feat which will place them among living climbing legends.

Jon Herranz was born in Getxo (Biscay) on 1980, and has directed several climbing and outdoor sports short films with hundreds of thousands of views around the world through internet on partnership with EpicTV, in addition to some sport documentaries as Panaroma, Novato and Restart. His last sport documentary, Panaroma, has won different Film Awards, as the 2015 Grivel Golden Axe Best Film Award at the Sancandido-Innichen Adventure Outdoor International Film Fest, among others, and it's part of the Official Selection of several International Film Festivals, as the San Sebastián, and the Graz Mountain Film International Festival. His short film Novato has been selected in 14 International Mountain Film Festivals as Bilbao, Trento, Vancouver, Graz, South Korea and Kendal. He has also directed social documentaries as Sikyong.
